No doubts that freeriding is the maximum expression of skiing, and for off-piste skiing enthusiasts the Passo del Tonale-Presena Glacier ski area represents one of the most sought-after destinations in the entire Alps. Sgualdrina, Cantiere and Dito are just three of the most popular descents, with nearly 1000 meters of pure fun!

The ski area of the Passo del Tonale is definitely one of the best destinations for off-piste skiing in western Trentino thanks to a series of favorable characteristics such as elevation (ranging between 1,900 and 3,000 meters a.s.l.), exposure (mainly northerly) and the morphology of the mountain which offers a range of valleys and ravines with varying slopes and difficulty levels.

On this 3-day course you will test your skills and learn new ones, riding the best powdery downhills. Learn the necessary techniques to manage your descents safely and how to evaluate the risks associated with every descent.

After the initial assessment on ski slopes to evaluate your skiing skills we are ready to dive down the flanks of Passo Tonale - Presena glacier.
Every day a new descent to deal with, a slope to be explored to learn the techniques of the ski manage, snow cover evaluation and behavior in case of avalanche.

Your Guide will select the best location for your daily descents, according to snow conditions, safety risks and your abilities.
Daily excursions may include ski touring sections, in order to gain additional altitude or reach places that are not serviced by lifts.

Costs conditions and materials

Each Guide can take a maximum of 6 people

Included in the fee: the Guide service, liability insurance, personal safety equipment (ARTVA transceiver, shovel and probe).
Not included in the fee: 2 nights accommodation on half board in a local mountain hut, and anything not mentioned in "included". Travel expenses and Guide's accommodation will be divided between participants.

 

 

Equipment provided by Mountime: personal safety equipment (ARTVA tranceiver, shovel and probe).

Personal equipment: complete freeride equipment (freeride skis, snowboard or telemark skis), helmet (mandatory), adequate clothing for outdoor activities including warm gloves, hat, sunglasses, backpack with flask for hot drinks, food, energy snacks and a complete change of clothing. Overnight clothing and personal toiletries.
