We go to the district of Piovere, on the Garda lake, and we wear the technical stuff (neoprene wet suit and socks, helmet, harness, and shoes). We have a pleasant walk on a small path, at first flat, but at the end quite steep and we reach the entrance of the canyon, where the Mountain Guides will make a short but detailed briefing to explain the activity, the rules and the behaviors to keep.
After the briefing the adventure can go on!
The first part it’s really enjoyable and nice: slides, water pools where dive and swim give a moment of funny relax. But soon the riverbed gets steep and canalize inside a canyon, alternating jumps and pools in a unique natural environment where light and water play together creating light tricks, and glitters.
With a succession of abseils and slides we reach a characteristic long slide ending in a big pool. From here begins a closed and dug in the rocks part, overridden in a short time with some abseils. Re-surface in an open environment we cross an exposed traverse ending with a great 45m abseil.
The final part takes place in an open environment, without particular difficulties: we walk in the riverbed, meeting by the way 2 long slides, the last one 12m long, not steep ending in idyllic pools.
A fantastic experience you will hardly forget.
