Precisely because of its steep and articulated nature, combined with its great historical and scenic interest, Caré Alto is one of the most beautiful and fascinating mountains in the area. Good physical fitness and basic climbing and crampon skills are required.

Caré Alto

La salita al Carè Alto 3465 m.

On the first day, with a walk that will test our stamina, we reach the cosy Carè Alto 2459 m refuge, where we will spend the night. The following morning we set off with headlamps towards the Cresta Cerana, which will immediately offer us some fun climbing passages on granite. From here we will continue along the rocky ridge, which is never trivial, until we reach the earned summit.

However, the games are not over, from the summit we descend along the normal route of the northern slope, with climbing sections and some abseiling, until we reach the Carè Alto glacier. In progression from the glacier, we make the traverse to the Sella di Niscli saddle and then deviate southwards to the starting hut, thus completing the round trip.
