Rio Nero lower part

The lower part of the Rio Nero Canyon is one of the most famous in the area and is the final section of a much longer, demanding river course. An ideal descent for beginners who want to get closer to this activity, but also for non beginners wishing to enjoy an exhilarating descent among the suggestive environment, with breath-taking jumps in clear water pools. Right from the start, this descent gives us thrilling excitement, interspersed with sections where the simple walk in the river-bed brings us back to being little explorers. The gorge’s sculpted rocks and adrenaline jumps will accompany us along its entire course.

Rio Nero lower part itinerary

Arriving at the Ampola Pass, at the end of the Ledro Valley, we leave the van and start preparing for our adventure. Wearing wetsuit and neoprene shoes, sneakers, harness and helmet, we set off uphill (about 15 min) to reach the top of the canyon. In a fresh water pool at the entrance to the canyon, your Guide will hold a short but detailed briefing to illustrate the activity, rules and behaviors to follow.

In the first part of our descent, an adrenaline-pumping slide welcomes us, followed by jumps and abseiling. Slides, jumps and stretches of walking in the river-bed follow one another to alternate adrenaline and relaxation.
The final part of the Rio Nero canyon is characterized by two waterfalls of more than 10 meters in height that will be overcome with two long abseils, thus concluding the adventure in a magnificent place.
