Alpinism in the Dolomites offers an unparalleled blend of breathtaking landscapes and challenging terrain, attracting climbers and mountaineers from around the world. This iconic mountain range, located in northern Italy, is renowned for its distinctive rocky peaks, vertical walls, and intricate spires. The Dolomites provide a diverse range of climbing opportunities, from moderate routes suited for beginners to demanding ascents that test the skills of even the most experienced alpinists. The area's unique geology, characterized by limestone formations, adds a sense of adventure and unpredictability to each climb. With a rich history of exploration and a network of well-maintained routes, the Dolomites continue to be a playground for alpinists seeking both physical challenges and unparalleled natural beauty.

Trentino offers endless possibilities, from the ascent to Punta Penia on the Marmolada Glacier, Cresta Intergrat in the Ortles Group, and Adamello and Presanella Groups. But in Italy, we can find other equally excellent climbs such as Mont Blanc, Biancograt on the Bernina Mountain Range, a multi-day tour on Monte Rosa, or even more distant destinations such as untouched Chinese peaks. If you have an idea, feel free to share it with us, and we will do our best to help you get it done!

The 3 best mountaineering routes, according to the Mountime guides, to do in 2 days (plus an incredible outing on one of the most famous glaciers in the world)!

- Presanella
The highest peak entirely in Trentino territory, 3558 m, was conquered in 1864 by the English mountaineer Freshfield. From the summit, the panorama is breathtaking, you can enjoy the view of the entire Brenta Group with its vertical towers, of the Adamello with its glacier, and of the Ortles Cevedale group with its imposing peaks.

- Ortles Normal Route
The highest peak of the Eastern Alps, Ortles, is undeniably imposing, with its ice-covered walls that offer breathtaking views from every side.
This is the most approachable climbing route, ideal for those who want to discover the progression techniques in the high mountains.

Last week, Jiri Leskovjan, a guide from the Mountime Guide Society, undertook 3 days on the Adamello Glacier and its ridges. A fascinating journey to uncrowded and wild places!
The ascent of the Adamello Glacier is an exhilarating alpine endeavour that leads climbers through the rugged terrain of the Adamello-Presanella Group in the Italian Alps. The glacier, named after the towering Adamello peak, is the largest in Italy and offers a captivating journey through icy expanses, crevasses, and seracs. The ascent typically starts from the Rifugio Mandrone, a mountain hut at the glacier's edge. Climbers navigate the glacier's undulating surface, often using crampons and ropes to ensure safe passage. The panoramic views along the way encompass striking alpine vistas and distant peaks!
