My name is Marco Zanni, but everyone calls me Sbiru (Sbirulino). I was born in Roncone, a small village in the Giudicarie Valleys, located between the two most beautiful mountain groups in Trentino: the Adamello-Presanella group and the Brenta Dolomites. I grew up practicing sports more or less related to the mountains, even if my first passion was the bicycle.
At 14 I was introduced to rock climbing and it was a real love at first sight. I started practicing at the gym and the bulder, then took part in my first races, and eventually I discovered the rocks. I could not stop! The crag, the first sport routes and then the mountaineering ones. Like many climbers I needed to feed my desire to climb so I moved to the Sarca valley, a rock paradise, here I was able to train on single and multi pitch routes, increasingly demanding routes.
I have also climbed around Europe, Asia and South America and I am still looking for new ways to test myself.
Since the mountain is my real passion, at the age of 25 I begun studying to become a Mountain Guide, completing the course at the age of 28. My desire is to be able to share my experience with other people approaching this fantastic world. Now I try to divide my time between Mountain Guiding and Treeclimbing, not forgetting the many dreams in the drawer that every mountaineer has.
