Arco and the Sarca valley, with its numerous Via Ferrata routes suitable for beginners and not, is the ideal location for a Via Ferrata course. Upon completion of the course one can aim to explore more difficult routes in the Dolomites, accompanied by one of our Mountain Guides.

The Via Ferrata course begins at a local crag, covering aspects of classic rock climbing as to familiarize with the gear and the rock, and to learn how to maneuver feet, a simple yet fundamental detail to preserve the strength of the arms.

Once the participants have familiarized with these aspects, the course will move onto Via Ferrata paths in the area where everyone can put into practice the technique learned, and continue to improve their abilities while focusing on safe maneuvering.
Our Mountain Guides will select the most suitable Via Ferratas based on abilities and expectations of the participants.

Via ferrata Course

The course at a glance

Day 1: Classic rock climbing lesson at one of the local crags. Participants will learn the basic rock-climbing techniques, the use of the rope and gear, the correct position of the feet when ascending a rock wall, and familiarize with the vertical dimension of climbing.

Day 2: We will tackle an easy Via Ferrata and learn how to safely use the Via Ferrata safety kit (harness and carabiners). We will focus on safety, the fundamental maneuvers to adopt in the event of a fall, and how to conduct a roped section.

Day 3: Participants will have the opportunity to test their newly acquired skills on a more demanding Via Ferrata route, chosen by the Guide based on the progression and ability of the group.
